America the Beautiful - Big Texan, Amarillo Texas

So how is Texas? Flat, big sky, cows, more cows, oil rigs, more oil rigs and steaks, BIG steaks!
Texas is know as the Lone Star State because of the one star on its flag. It is the biggest state in the Union after Alaska..

Big Texan's 72oz steak. The woman in the photo is attempting to eat the 4lb steak, potato and salad in record time. That's a lot of steak!!

Stelios and I each had the 6oz filet mignon and it was plenty! The carrot cake was also extra large!

America the Beautiful - Hot Springs, Arkansas

Hot Springs, Arkansas is the birthplace of President Bill Clinton but also, a hot mineral springs resort town frequented by celebrities before Las Vegas was developed.
It retains a great deal of its prior beauty, its art deco bathhouses and grand hotels a marvel to see.
The Venetian Room at the Arlington Hotel

The old bath houses are mostly galleries or shops today, with only one or two still in operation as spas.

Take a tour of one of the bathhouses that is now a museum and see the ornate tubs of old, the implements of spa treatments, and the beautiflly detailed architectural elements.

If you go in the spring you;ll see the blooms of the camelia, the flower of the American South.

The Arlington Hotel art deco elevators with the US Mail shoot on the side.
Enjoy!

America the Beautiful - Dandridge Tennessee

Dandridge Tennessee is the second oldest city in Tennessee and the cutest little American town. It was named after Martha Dandridge Washington, the wife of the first President of the United States. Two cross streets make the historic downtown and it has everything you need. A courthouse, a Drug Store, a cemetery, a restaurant (the Hitching Post) and a Dam.

 Serious BBQ!

If you ever need to get off the highway and take a brake in the vicinity of this town, I highly recommend spending an afternoon walking the history filled streets, visiting the local establishments and having some serious BBQ at the newly opened Hitching Post.
Enjoy!
